DON'T LOOK NOW
"A photograph is a secret about a secret. The more it tells you the less you know "
- Diane Arbus
Taking the provocative photographs of Diane Arbus as a starting point, emerging Melbourne writers Harley Hefford, Casey Nicholls and Louris van de Geer created three new short plays that showcase their unique voices and incredible visions.
Inspired by the Diane Arbus photograph "A family on their lawn one Sunday in Westchester, NY", Fried Cutlets takes place at an unidentified family gathering. Distant relatives attempt to fill the gaps between each other by preparing food, drinking wine, taking pictures and commenting on the upholstery.
